Before relocating to North Carolina, Ms. Stott practiced criminal law and domestic law in Illinois, where she served as an Assistant Public Defender, focusing on abuse, neglect, and dependency cases, in McHenry County, located North of Chicago, Illinois. She also externed during law school on a death penalty case with the Cook County Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office. She has tried a wide range of misdemeanor and felony matters in bench trials and jury trials, including possession of controlled substances, unlawful use of weapons, and aggravated battery cases. Additionally, she has represented both parents and children as an attorney Guardian Ad Litem in Illinois in abuse and neglect cases, as well as defended against termination of parental rights cases.
